How You Can Help
The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society is a non-profit group supported solely by donations. We have an active group of volunteers to keep the animal shelter open on Saturdays. For additional information, to become a volunteer or to receive our newsletter, please call the animal shelter at 238-1117 or e-mail us at dbchs@bellsouth.net. You can help us in the following ways: CASH DONATIONS: Donation levels are: Friend $25, Associate $50, Supporter $100 and Patron $500. Mail them to P.O. Box 487, Danville, KY 40423. SPONSOR A KENNEL: A $240 donation from a business or individual or a $400 donation from a corporation entitles sponsors to have their name posted on one of the colorful plates in the animal shelter building. A sponsorship lasts for one year. DONATE FOOD OR OTHER ITEMS: We usually need such items as dog and cat food, dog treats, detergent, bleach and cleaning products. Bring them by the shelter anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. VOLUNTEER: We have a staff of volunteers who work at the shelter on Saturdays. We also use volunteers to help out at fund-raising events throughout the year. If you would like to volunteer, please email us. FOSTER PUPPIES: One way we try to find homes for our puppies is to transport some of them to rescue groups in area where they are more likely to find homes. We need volunteers to keep puppies for one to two weeks about once a month. If you would be interested, please check out the guidelines and information form.
