Adopting from the DBCHS means giving a home to a dog or cat who needs one while at the same time adding a loving and loyal member to your family. Studies show that owning a pet can dramatically reduce stress levels. Take the edge off and adopt a friend today.
Take a look at the pets available for adoption at our shelter.
Adoption fee of $75 for kittens, adult cats and dogs and $100 for puppies includes:
• spay-neuter surgery
• voucher for rabies vaccine
• first distemper-parvo and bordetella vaccinations (dogs)
• vaccinations and feline leukemia test (cats)
• Capstar (to kill fleas)
• training DVD
• handmade quilted pet throw
Dog adopters are also invited to our free obedience class. Animals as young as eight weeks of age may be spayed/neutered, and the surgery is done before the pet goes to its new home. Local veterinarians work with the DBCHS to make the surgery affordable so we can keep our adoption fees low.
