The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society is a non-profit organization that has been helping cats and dogs in our area since 1972. Whether you're looking for the perfect pet to adopt, wanting to get involved by fostering or volunteering, needing help getting your own animals neutered, or just looking for helpful information, you've come to the right place!

Pets of the Week

Patches (ID #26793) is a sweet 2 year old domestic shorthair cat. She was surrendered to the humane society because her owner moved. Patches is an unusual color. At first glance she looks like a standard orange tabby that has been rolling around in a pile of coal. But the reality is that she has black smudge markings on her orange base color. Patches is a little shy and enjoys quiet naps on a soft bed. It may take her a few days to adjust to a new home and family, but given the chance she will make an awesome companion!

Little Buttercup (ID #26846) is a precious 7 month tri-color old Beagle. She is the smaller variety and just weighs 17 lbs. Buttercup was surrendered to the shelter because “she won’t hunt”. In a way this is sad, but at least her previous owner has given us the opportunity to find this sweet girl a home as a family pet. Buttercup is timid and scared. She needs an owner who will help build her confidence with gentle training and love. If you come for a visit it will be difficult to ignore this pretty girl’s big brown eyes and you may just end up taking her home with you!
